Important information for those attending Joplin High School's graduation
Information for attendees of Joplin High School's graduation is now available. The doors will open at 4:30 pm. Doors close at 6:45 pm. Cameras are permitted. Please account for extra travel time and arrive on the early side of doors open. No road closures are expected until doors close time, but expect heavy traffic. Car-pooling is strongly encouraged. Taylor Auditorium will open at 4:30 pm for non-ticketed guests wishing to view the graduation live streaming on screens.
Joplin Schools to host Open House at JHS 11-12 Campus
Joplin Schools will host an Open House from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Sunday, May 20, at the Joplin High School 11-12 Campus at Northpark Mall, 101 N. Range Line Rd, Joplin. The event is open to the public. Guests and family members of graduating seniors as well as those who have not had a chance to visit the JHS 11-12 Campus are invited to attend the Open House.

Joplin Schools to mark one year anniversary of May 22 tornado with groundbreaking ceremonies
On Tuesday, May 22, 2012 Joplin Schools will mark the one year anniversary of the May 22, 2011 tornado with groundbreaking ceremonies for its new schools. The public is invited to attend and join Joplin Schools as we celebrate our ongoing recovery efforts and honor all of those who have shared in our story of "Hope." Graduation ceremonies for Joplin High School will be held Monday, May 21, 2012, at 7:00 pm at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center at Missouri Southern State University, 3950 Newman Rd, Joplin. President Obama will deliver the commencement address. Governor Nixon will also speak during the ceremony. Tickets are required to attend the event. As in past years, graduating seniors each receive eight tickets for the ceremony to distribute to their families and friends.
Overflow seating with video and audio access to the Joplin High School graduation ceremony will be available in Taylor Performing Arts Center, Missouri Southern State University, 3950 E Newman Rd, Joplin. No tickets will be required for the overflow seating. The theater seats 2,000 and seating is first come, first served.
